If you own a home in Cuyahoga County, you may see a higher property tax bill if the results hold. Issues 10 and 11 each had more than 60% of the vote as of Wednesday morning in unofficial results, and both asked voters to raise their own property taxes.

Issue 10 gives the Board of Developmental Disabilities its first property tax increase since 2005. Issue 11 backs senior services, programs for homeless people, child protective services, addiction treatment and MetroHealth Medical Center. Board CEO Amber Gibbs said, “We have gone 21 years without asking voters for more money.”
- Issue 10 length: 10 years, at 2.25 mills
- Issue 11: renews 4.7 mills and raises the levy to 7.2
- Issue 11 total levy cost: $196 per $100,000
- Issue 11 total revenue: almost $262 million a year
Those early tallies, which counted only mail-in and early in-person ballots, put Issue 11 at 63%. County Executive Chris Ronayne has said that without it, departments funded by health and human services would need to cut budgets by at least 8% next year.
